Internet has been important part of most people’s lives in last decade. Internet technology has evolved and so the devices connected with it. Earlier internet was used mainly on larger desktop devices. With the advent of smartphones, mobile development industry got created.
Though desktops are going to be around for next few years mostly in business setups, it will be mobile devices which will be dominating internet.
Now coming back to the reason why I chose to write on this subject.
Many upcoming programmers have faced dilemma while choosing between web and mobile development technologies.
Mostly new programmers choose to learn languages based on these factors:
- because of educational course
- freelancers learn it for possible upcoming projects
- and new employees learn it as part of training
Both web and mobile technologies are not completely exclusive, meaning in many projects they will be used together. Mobile apps will have back-end web interfaces. So learning one of these technologies will give some idea about the other domain.
Both web and mobile technologies are going to exist together for next few years for sure. But as a programmer we need to keep flexibility to work across platforms and languages. Though web will be web for some reasons, it’s recommended to be ready for mobile technology dominance.
And here are some reasons for learning mobile development technologies:
- increase in use of smartphones has led to development of high level apps
- mobile developers are in demand more than ever
- mobile is going to be technology of next couple of decades
